The Harris Interactive Survey for the year 2004 conducted for Home Instead Senior Care revealed that at least 20 percent of Americans who provide care or assistance for an older relative live more than two hours away from the person requiring care. Home Instead Senior Care aims at providing caregivers who would visit the homes of elders and help them with different services.

Where have all the advocates gone?
Article Abstract:
The development of a cadre of advocates, which will meet the demands of a growing elderly population, is discussed. Advocacy is sorely missed at the national level but the most effective efforts can occur at the local level, where individuals can relate to the importance of creating and sustaining healthy aging communities for all generations.
