So-called brightness in color ethnography: Potentials for LCD technology in fieldwork and categorization research
Article Abstract:
The World Color Survey (WCS) reveals that many minor and tribal languages namely, the light sense in manners that differ from the hue naming of familiar major languages. Equipment and methods that would probe this resource for the benefit of color ethnography and psychological inquiry into the nature of color categorization are suggested.

Why GRUE? An interpoint-distance model analysis of composite color categories
Article Abstract:
The interpoint-distance model (IDM) to explain composite color categories that continue to challenge existing models in the literature is applied. It is concluded that alternative perspective for color categorization and naming can used to characterize the composite categories found in many language.

Explanation and color-naming research
Article Abstract:
Disagreements and difficulties that arise in research into the university of color names and into explanation for such universality are explored. It is shown that such differences can be understood in a novel way via a consideration of the nature of explanation in science.
