Transparency and teaching
Article Abstract:
Globalization takes different forms in different parts of the world, but for people working in institutions such as universities, globalization is most regularly registered in terms of a set of concepts with an ethical and practical performative power. The Bologna Process, a legal treaty entered into by 29 European Ministers of State Education in 1999, is a good example of the concept of transparency in teaching that makes radical changes in the manner in which education is delivered, designed and thought about in the countries of the European Union.

The global university
Article Abstract:
The university derives its authority and legitimacy from its claim of producing and conveying universal knowledge, but some scholars point out that universities around the globe in the late 20th and early 21st century display a complex heterogeneity that is largely at odds with such claims. A discussion on some of the specific cultural-historical forces that cause universities to be such widely divergent phenomena while still making claims in the name of universal knowledge is presented.

University
Article Abstract:
The combination of globalization and cybernation will set the parameters for a new round of development of the university in the 21st century, with one trend being the growth of global universities, both virtual and land-based. At the same time, the growth of professional life outside of and between institutions is lessening dependency on them, and the academic intelligentsia is becoming more interconnected than ever before.
