Endogenous R&D spillovers and locational choice
Article Abstract:
A study showing that location of firms affects the research and development expenditure oriented towards increasing the quality of the product. It is observed that a minimum difference in product quality is always present which increases with the distance between the firms. Investment in research and development is also directly proportionate to product differentiation. Thus, location of the firm affects the type of research and development expenditure being undertaken by the firm.
