What attracts high performance factories? Management culture and regional advantage
Article Abstract:
The study examines the importance of different management practices on the location decisions of new manufacturing plants using national data and case studies. New insights are provided on regional development policy by precise specifying location models with high performance management cultures. The study concludes that biased estimates of the importance of location factors may result when management culture is omitted from studies of business cultures and labor efficiency is ignored.
