What's wrong with abstinence-only sexuality education programs?
Article Abstract:
The Sexual Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) supports abstinence but not abstinence-only approaches to sexuality education. Abstinence-only sexuality education programs are ineffective methods of giving young people the skills to delay their involvement in sexual behaviors. Furthermore, they exhibit inconsistencies with federal requirements for sexuality education programs. Comprehensive sexuality education, on the other hand, can effectively help young people delay their sexual behavior and grow into healthy and responsible adults.

We need more than magic
Article Abstract:
It is very unfortunate that the public and the media had to wait for Magic Johnson's announcement of his AIDS infection before the necessary attention was given to this issue. Several positive developments followed the announcement but there is so much more to be done before the battle against this disease is won. The latter can only be achieved by promoting awareness, lobbying for increased funding and providing services and treatment to those who need them.
