The impact of transaction costs on the institutional structuration of collaborative academic research
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the role that transaction costs plays on the institutional structuration of collaborative academic research. Data were collected by sending 1566 usable questionnaires to the faculty members of 18 Canadian universities. Results indicate the critical importance of coordination expenses, publication assets, additional funding and membership in the engineering, health sciences and natural sciences disciplines.
