The impact of interpretation versus comparison mindsets on knowledge accessibility effects
Article Abstract:
This article examines the roles of interpretation, comparison, and knowledge accessibility in the process of impression formation. Findings indicate that when priming is used to activate an interpretive mindset, accessible knowledge contributes to interpretation effects but when a comparison mindset is primed, accessible knowledge produces comparison effects in social judgement.

The flexible unconscious: Investigating the judgmental impact of varieties of unaware perception
Article Abstract:
Two studies were conducted to investigate the notion that stimulus exposure time, target category, and mindset orientation can influence the impact of subliminally presented emotion faces on judgments of neutral targets. The results make it clear that for the survival of an organism it needs to ward off dangers and make use of opportunities and chances but it is unclear whether or not in the earliest stages of processing, classification is affect-based or goal-contingent.

Categories of category accessibility: the impact of trait concept versus exemplar priming on person judgements
Article Abstract:
Trait concept, nonperson exemplar and person exemplar priming produce differential assimilation and contrast effects on impression formation at the encoding and judgement stages. Assimilation and contrast effects usually follow the presentation of priming stimuli, which strongly represents a particular trait category. Category information primed in an interpretation frame leads assimilative judgements of ambiguous stimuli. However, when used in comparison standard, primed category information elicits contrastive judgements of ambiguous and well-known stimuli.
