Characteristics of relapse to substance use in comorbid adolescents
Article Abstract:
The factors associated with the relapse process for substance use disordered (SUD) youth with comorbid disorders psychiatric are examined taking into account temporal and situational characteristics, psychiatric symptoms, self-efficacy and developmentally relevant experiences. It is observed that youth who relapse within the first month are more likely to report use of drugs other than alcohol or marijuana in their first use and late relapsers report direct social pressure to use.

Self-efficacy as a predictor of treatment outcome in adolescent substance use disorders
Article Abstract:
Prevention of adolescent substance abuse relapse is studied to assess the patients' situational self-efficacy (SE), which is their motivation to abstain from substance use in high-risk situations. It is found that improved SE, which is assessed as a predictor of substance use and as an outcome of therapy, contributes to positive treatment outcome.
