Do parakeets exhibit derived stimulus control? Some thoughts on experimental control procedures
Article Abstract:
Research on derived stimulus control would be greatly enhanced with the development of novel techniques for studying non-human and verbally limited human subjects. Reinforcement of test-trial responses and simple successive discrimination are two procedures that are used relatively infrequently yet bear consideration. A significant study involving parakeets is evaluated in relation to these two procedures.
