Embeddedness and local food systems: notes on two types of direct agricultural market
Article Abstract:
A comparison is presented between two direct agricultural markets, the farmers' market and a community supported agricultural system. While farmers' markets establish close ties between farmers and consumers, a community supported system reduces the importance of commodity in food supply exchanges.

The embeddedness and the turn to quality in agro-food research are examined. The notion of embeddedness requires scrutiny and the implications of the turn to quality for the geography of agriculture may not be radical.
