Interpersonal roles in transference: transient mood effects under the condition of significant-other resemblance
Article Abstract:
Normative relational-role information is also activated when a significant-other representation is activated in transference. Role incongruence results in negative mood in positively-toned significant-other representations. Transient mood in transference is not an exaggerated assessment based on the overall tone of the significant-other representation. This indicates that a person's evaluation of another person and the former's mood in relation to the latter may operate by different principles.
