Assumptions behind immigration stands
Article Abstract:
There are three opposing ethical viewpoints on migration that shape policies. These are Catholic social thought, communitarianism and political liberalism which brings about different interpretations of just immigrant admissions policy. Morally upright immigration policies require that both the common rule of rights and the good of the different races making up the population be respected. In this regard, the basic rights common to citizens and resident aliens must be fulfilled.

Public perception and rational reform of immigration policy
Article Abstract:
Immigration reform measures that were not solidly guided by research are endangering a rational reform. Most of them remained at the public perception level of the process rather than addressing the issues of immigration. An initiative to bring balance and perspective in the contemporary political discourse over immigration is needed. This would enable the migration process to be more responsive to the needs and changes occurring within migrant human rights.
