Public housing at the crossroads
Article Abstract:
Issues related to the political climate for public housing at the beginning of the 21st century are examined. Topics include rasons for perceived failures of the public housing system, need to establish a clear mission that is accepted by the public, history of public housing, the importance of mixed-income communities, and the power public housing residents should have in defining the fate of their communities.

Public housing in Europe: lessons from abroad
Article Abstract:
The primary differences between public housing in Western Europe and the United States is discussed. The article emphasises the diminishing availability of housing for low- and moderate-income households in the US and how public housing policy in Western Europe addresses those issues.
