Recognizing child maltreatment in Bangladesh
Article Abstract:
Various cases of child abuse and neglect have been determined by professionals in Bangladesh. The Child Development Center has concentrated on the identification of interpersonal abuse and neglect and has determined a wide variety of intra- and extrafamilial forms of abuse. Examples of child abuse identified were epilepsy in a six year old boy triggered by domestic violence, and learning difficulties and aggressive-regressive behavior in an 11-year old girl who was sexual abused by cell mates.
