Regaining trust in medicine: Professional and state strategies
Article Abstract:
The longer-term social and political changes that have brought a shift in the relationship between patients, doctors and the state and a greater concern for predictability in medical competence are explored. The reforms introduced by the General Medical Council (GMC) and government and their ability in restoring the trust between each other are discussed.

Medical records: they're a mess!
Article Abstract:
Medical records are disorderly because these are mainly confined to paper and the software vendors that sell electronic record-keeping systems have incompatible systems. Doctors do not like keeping databases of their patient's medical records because these could be used to compare doctor-on-doctor performance stats.
