Residency training in child sexual abuse evaluation
Article Abstract:
The training of faculty and resident pediatricians in child sexual abuse evaluation during their three-year post-graduate program is perceived as inadequate and ineffective. A study on perceptions of faculty and resident pediatricians on training in child sexual abuse evaluation revealed that most were not satisfied with the quality of training. They also believe that preparation on conducting sexual abuse evaluation may be inadequate. These should prompt those responsible for training to ensure that faculty and resident physicians receive effective and well-organized information.

Medical student response to an interactive patient simulation program used to supplement child abuse education
Article Abstract:
Educational efforts at understanding all the aspects that are involved in the abuse of women, children and the elderly has included the use of simulated cases. In the case of abused children, however, the risk of its having a negative effect on the children mitigated against its use. The technological industry has developed interactive computer programs to meet this educational need. 'Diagnostic Reasoning,' a patient simulation software, is one of the programs used among first year medical students, who found the computer simulation a great help in learning.
