Resistance to change as a function of stimulus-reinforcer and location-reinforcer contingencies
Article Abstract:
Previous research has shown that resistance to change depends on stimulus-reinforcer contingencies rather than on operant response-reinforcer contingencies. However, a 1992 study did not agree with this conclusion when it argued that resistance to change depended on the correlation of reinforcement rate with both the component stimuli and with response location. To determine the validity of this argument, the study is replicated to determine the possible effects of location-reinforcer relations on resistance to change. Results are contrary to the findings of the 1992 study.

Rapid acquisition in concurrent chains: Evidence for a decision model
Article Abstract:
Pigeons are trained on a concurrent-chains procedure in which the terminal link associated with the left initial link is always fixed-interval to examine the cause of matching in concurrent choice procedures. The results demonstrate that pigeons' response allocation can adapt quickly to unpredictable changes in the terminal-link immediacy ratio across sessions, although sensitivity levels are variable across subjects.

Contrast and reallocation of extraneous reinforces as a function of component duration and baseline rate of reinforcement
Article Abstract:
Analysis of experiments conducted on four homing pigeons maintained at 80 to 85% of free-feeding weights reveals that contrast reductions as a function of components duration were followed by alike reductions in the vastness of reinforcer allocation on the extra key. The findings confirm the theory that changes in extraneous reinforcement during the constant component affect certain contrast effects.
