Reviewers, orthodoxy, and the passion to publish

The mission of the editors of Social Work is described and is one of encouraging reviewers from diverse groups rather than lengthy scholarly publication records. The focus of scholarship should not be "publish or perish" but a passion for ideas and for sharing them with the profession.

Shallow science?
Article Abstract:
A criticism of the methods used by John T. Pardeck and Roland G. Meinert to assess the scholarly productivity of editorial board members of Social Work is given. Studies whose main purpose is to spy on colleagues and their institutions do not deserve the name of science.
