Further technical considerations regarding conducting and documenting the child sexual abuse medical examination

The technical conduct of medical examination for sexually abused victims depends upon the ability of the examiner, the technique used and the equipment utilized. In the examination of the sex organ, extensive knowledge regarding the anatomy is primarily important since the medical observation must be documented accurately. Photographic documentation using photocolposcopy should be of superior quality. Technological equipment used in the examination must be easily available, easy to use, of superior quality, accurate and affordable.
