Effect of drugs in response-duration differentiation VII: response-force requirements
Article Abstract:
This article examines variables that affect temporal response differentiation in rats during a lever-press task. Findings indicate that when rats are trained to press a lever for a specific amount of time, increases in lever weight and doses of phencyclidine and methamphetamine decrease accuracy while reductions in lever weight increase accuracy.

The long-term effect of high- and low-rate responding histories on fixed-interval responding in rats
Article Abstract:
This article examines the effects of extensive training using variable reinforcement schedules on the behavior of rats during subsequent lever-press tasks. Findings indicate that although response rates are affected by the reinforcement schedule immediately preceding the experimental condition, reinforcement schedule history has no long-term effect on response behavior in rats.

Overmatching in rats: the barrier choice paradigm
Article Abstract:
This article examines the effects of placing a barrier at two different heights between two levers that reinforce with food when pressed in sequence on choice behavior in rats. Findings indicate that the higher barrier resulted in overmatching, or an increased sensitivity to reinforcement due to greater locomotion effort.
