The neutron star: chemist Dave Morrissey creates super heavy metals
Article Abstract:
Dave Morrissey was able to create aluminum atoms with 30 neutrons and magnesium atoms with 28 neutrons using a cyclotron at Michigan State University. It will probably take another two to five years to find all the isotopes of aluminum, silicon, and magnesium and far longer for the rest of the elements with no known isotope limits.
