The social work practitioner-researcher-educator: Encouraging innovations and empowerment in the 21st century
Article Abstract:
Examples of the empowerment curriculum and problem-based learning are presented to illustrate how social work teachers can play the role of a practitioner-researcher-educator to promote social justice and anti-discrimination in the globalization process. The social work educators can adopt a holistic and strength focused empowerment model to promote social justice and anti-discrimination in the globalization process.

Empowering women in social work practice: A Hong Kong case
Article Abstract:
The postmodernist feminist notion of empowerment and its integration in social work practice for women in Hong Kong are examined. Four areas of reflections on empowerment practice which include the reconceptualization of power, the fact that the personal is political, the dilemma of difference and the relationship between empowerer and the empowered are highlighted for discussion.
