The systems of social partnership in Russia
Article Abstract:
In transitional economies relations between employer and employee remain unstable, reflective of a developing labor sphere. The author offers various methods for addressing this instability, including the transformation of labor into a social subsystem for the expression of labor interests and the creation of an institutionalized system of social partnerships meant to reduce conflicts and social tensions in the the labor sphere.

The symbolic resistance of the U.K. trade unions to 'offshoring' of call centre work through the adoption of nationalist rhetoric is analyzed. National newspapers' support to their stand, actually contrary to the unions' internationalist aims, is discussed.
