Toward new global development
Article Abstract:
The advent of global development with its associated social problems has been analyzed as the direct result of the imperfections of political and ideological dogma. The issue of global sustainability should be considered through analyzing the social effects of the post Cold-war era. New directions that will provide human satisfaction, such as the need for a newly defined political doctrine, eradication of cultist thinking and universalization of knowledge should be implemented to enable globalism be appropriate for human existence.

Globalization and its many faces have essentially changed the content and character of inter- and intra-societal relationships. A new kind of social work will have to embrace universalization of values, knowledge and skills that promote inclusive world citizenship and global coexistence.

A redefinition of international social work as a professional discipline that encourages transnational knowledge is advocated. Measures that would aid the validation of international social work as a legitimate specialty are recommended.
