Article Abstract:
Many women inmates are subjected to inter-generational abuse and are re-traumatized in prison. This article describes the re-traumatization of an Hispanic inmate and discusses implications for mental health and correctional practitioners.

Evaluating traumatic incident reduction therapy with female inmates: a randomized controlled clinical trial
Article Abstract:
Traumatic incident reduction has been shown to effectively reduce post-traumatic stress disorder for women prisoners. Initial treatment and three-month follow-up time intervals showed the stability of these intervention effects.

Traumatic Incident Reduction is a one-session intervention designed to treat women inmates for anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. This technique also increased self-efficacy in these women.
