The article focuses on the interrelationship between feminist and scientific community perspectives of abortion, as a women's health issue and a medical procedure evolving to reduce the longstanding stigmatization of abortion providers. Discussion includes other health social movements in which lay/medical relationships address controversial services.

The medicalisation of shyness: from social misfits to social fitness
Article Abstract:
There are several traits in a person which define shyness. In western countries, there is currently the 'cultural epidemic' sweeping shyness. A critical perspective of this cultural epidemic and three important therapeutics aimed at reducing shyness, which include behavioral therapeutics apart biomedical, is presented.
