Lee Abrams invented a music format called album-oriented rock AOR, which in the 1970's shifted the music industry's focus from singles to albums, which resulted to an end for the brief, storied era of free-form radio and the iconastic disk jockeys (DJ's). Abrams new company XM Satellite Radio aimed to blow open the formulaic programming of AM and FM.
