Motorcyclist Roger Reiman died at Daytona International Speedway on Mar 4, 1997. The 58-year-old 1964 Grand National Champion was practicing for a BMW Battle of the Legends race when he collided with a group of riders. His colleagues rode in formation three times around the track in tribute to Reiman.

The American legend in motorcycle racing was finally laid to rest in Feb. 1996. The winner of the first Daytona 200 Motorcycle Race, Ed Krentz, enjoyed a flourishing career that spanned nearly 30 years of victories behind the handlebars for the former mechanic and truck driver.
