Article Abstract:
The Food and Drug Administration recently approved the use of the Ng:YAG laser for treating canker sores. Although the laser can provide immediate relief from pain and help the sore to heal faster, it will not cure the condition that causes canker sores.

Article Abstract:
The age-related eye condition called macular degeneration was treated with x-rays. The results, unlike with laser photocoagulation, did not destroy eye cells, but did improve the condition in 25% of the patients and stabilized it in 65% of the patients.
