An uplifting experience: lifters aren't just for racers anymore

Ski lifters are plates mounted between the ski and the binding which increase side-to-side leverage resulting in faster, easier skiing and turning. Introduced in 1986, the original device was intended to smooth out rides. Several are discussed ranging in price from $150-$270.

The head case: use your head to get the most out of a helmet
Article Abstract:
Safety helmets have become more popular among adult skiers, because of their prevalence in crossover sports such as inline skating. Helmets protect against glancing blows but not necessarily direct blows, and they may even exacerbate neck injuries.
