Association between the GNB3 polymorphism and blood pressure in young Korean men
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to investigate the associations between the G-protein beta3 subunit (GNB3) C825T polymorphism, body fatness and fitness, and blood pressure in a sample of young Korean men. The findings suggest that increased body fatness along with low cardiorespiratory fitness might magnify the genetic susceptibility of the GNB3 825T allele to elevated blood pressure in this population.

Cardiovascular fitness among U.S. adults: NHANES 1999-2000 and 2001-2002
Article Abstract:
Representative estimates of VO(sub 2max) and sex- and age-specific cardiovascular fitness levels among US adults, based on data from NHANES (1999-2000 and 2001-2002) are presented. It is observed that cardiovascular fitness levels were lowest among non-Hispanic black adults, compared to the other major race groups in the United States.
