Autumn browns
Article Abstract:
Fall is an excellent time to fish for brown trout because their behavior changes. The fish eat more and are more active, trying to protect their spawning grounds. Equipment that provide a better chance of success and locations in which the fish are plentiful are described.

North Umpqua River
Article Abstract:
The Umpqua River is full of narrow glides, small pools and logjams, which add challenge and satisfaction to the trout-fishing experience. The trout are wild and usually less than 12 inches long. Ideal locations and lures are described.

Wyoming's Shoshone River is pristine, cold and an excellent habitat for brown and rainbow trout. However, the rocks are slippery, and felt-soled waders are a necessity. Lures and attractor patterns for various conditions are described.
