Banking fat...vs. spreading it around

Some people eat two low-fat meals and one high-fat meal each day but it is better to spread the fat grams out through the day. Tests have shown that after a large high-fat meal, the arteries lose flexibility for up to four hours. Doing this as a regular habit can cause strain to the blood vessels.

Problem bears are going to the dogs

Karelian bear dogs were bred to hunt brown bears in Finland and Russia. Now they are utilized in wildlife management to keep bears away from campgrounds, cabins and motel dumpsters. Tim Manley, a grizzly bear management specialist, claims a high success rate with this approach.

Sausages, wieners, bologna and other processed meat products are increasingly being made with poultry instead of beef and pork. In addition, fruit, vegetables, oat bran, seaweed and liquid are being substituted for fat. This results in products much lower in fat content.
