Battling blisters

There are several ways of preventing and treating osmotic blisters in boats. One way of ensuring that blisters do not occur is by properly controlling the mix of resins and hardeners for coatings. Small blisters can be treated by opening and cleaning the hull using an electric drill.

Rigging repairs at sea
Article Abstract:
A project to repair a portside lower shroud that broke free when the wire fitting sheared is described. When other terminals were found to be cracked, temporary doublers kept the rigging intact until the terminals could be replaced.

The author describes his visit to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, a coastal village in the Candian Maritimes. He points out that it is easy to navigate around town but difficult getting into the port as buoy markings are confusing.
