Tactical sail changes
Article Abstract:
Tactical sail changes during sailing competitions is a matter of knowing the boat's sailing characteristics, anticipating wind conditions, and anticipating conditions for sail changes. One rule that works most of the time is that of setting up sails in preparation for lulls, which would allow the boat to continue developing speed.

A seagoing reefing system
Article Abstract:
A performance-boat reefing system allows the crew to get the luff and the foot of the sail bar tight in less than 90 seconds. The system requires two people and is not ideal for singlehanders. The winch is located on the mast to make it easier to acquire and maintain tension.
