Thirteen handheld global positioning system (GPS) devices are evaluated. Prices given range from the $249 Magellan GPS 3000 to the $1,175 Raytheon 198. These tools are for use by small yacht owners and they vary in weight from 9 oz to 30 oz. Other factors considered included number of channels.
