Bolero was designed by Olin Stephens and built by Henry Nevins for John Nicholas Brown. It has been one of the world's most famous and most beautiful ocean racers. Gunter Sunkler has restored Bolero back to its former beauty and performance.

A description is presented of the Antarctic exploration adventure which was undertaken by explorer Ernest Shackleton in his 144-foot barquentine, the 'Endurance'. Photographs taken by Frank Hurley are discussed.
