Research indicates that men can cut their risk of developing diverticulitis by almost half by increasing their fiber intake to 20 to 35 grams each day. Men who ate red meat 2 to 4 times a week had about three times the risk of developing the disease as men who ate red meat less often than once a month.

Does cholesterol matter?
Article Abstract:
A study, which concluded that older people with higher cholesterol were not necessarily those who were the most likely to have heart problems, has been questioned. The study probably did not last long enough, it conflicts with prior research, and was somewhat limited in its scope.

A Boston Univ study indicates that physically active preschoolers are less likely to become overweight later in childhood and adulthood. Among 103 preschoolers studied, inactive children tended to gain body fatness while active children tended to lose it.
