Can I dive with a cold?
Article Abstract:
Scuba divers experiencing colds and flu should refrain from diving. Colds and fever hinder regular and proper breathing which is a primary requirement when diving. Only if one feels fine should diving plans be continued, otherwise, rest is needed. It is important to get a doctor's advice because diving could aggravate the impending flu or cold. Medications that could be taken while diving are decongestants, analgesics, and non-drowsy formulas of antihistamines. In order to hasten cure of a cold, it is best to take in lots of water and maintain hydration.

Shark dives - unnatural, unacceptable?
Article Abstract:
A message posted by Arno Dienhart on the 'Diver to Diver' Web site expressed his objection to a petition campaign for the creation marine reserves in the Bahamas. He felt the campaign was being used to protect Bahamas' tourism and not the sharks. However, the proposed marine reserves are meant to show sharks as creatures that should be protected by man and not as ruthless killers as they have been portrayed. The marine reserves are just a tool for countering the overfishing of a species.
