Canoe racing is thriving in Pacific
Article Abstract:
Traditional canoe racing, between sleek vessels built of modern materials is seen all over the South Pacific, from French Polynesia to New Caledonia and Australia. Outrigger canoes were used for local and inter-island transportation and racing and canoe surfing were traditional ways to sharpen skills needed for paddling offshore.

Oregon's Newberry Volcano
Article Abstract:
The Newberry National Volcanic Monument in central Oregon has 80 miles of trails and features many interesting geological formations such as the Newberry caldera. There are also two pristine lakes and wildlife such as mule deer and Roosevelt elk.
