Comparison of maximal anaerobic running tests on a treadmill and track
Article Abstract:
Sprint runners and distance runners performed a test on a treadmill and on a track to determine both metabolic and neuromuscular components of maximal sprinting to develop a track version of the maximal anaerobic running. Results of the track version of the maximal anaerobic running test were found to relate to and in agreement with those of the treadmill version of the test and thus it can be concluded that the track version is a valid method to measure different determinants of sprint running.

Changes in running economy following downhill running
Article Abstract:
The time course of changes in running economy following a 30-min downhill run at 70 percent peak aerobic power was examined. Results indicate that changes in running form and compromised muscle function due to muscle damage lead to the reduction in running economy for 3 days after downhill running.
