Comparison of modified Brostrom and Evans procedures in simulated lateral ankle injury
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to compare the modified Brostrom and Evans procedure for simulated lateral ankle instability in cadaveric lower extremities. The Evans procedure improved stability at the expense of creating abnormal subtalar function and the Brostrom operation improved stability without excessively restricting subtalar movement, but was not effective in addressing the internal rotation laxity.

Quantitative assessment of mechanical laxity in the functionally unstable ankle
Article Abstract:
Subjects with self-reported, functional ankle instability (FAI) had demonstrated increased mechanical laxity when tested with instrumented arthrometry and stress radiography is discussed. Although ankle arthrometry and stress radiographic measurement are objective assessment tools for mechanical laxity, clinical significance of observed displacement is not answered.

Hormonal therapy: ACL and ankle injury
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to determine the rate of noncontact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and ankle sprains in collegiate basketball and soccer. The overall rate of noncontact ACL injury and ankle sprain to women's collegiate basketball and soccer players is very low.
