Cross Creek
Article Abstract:
A childhood in the Allegheny Mountains is described. Postcard-pretty Cross Creek was a three-mile hike away and provided many peaceful hours of fishing enjoyment. The creek was polluted then, from strip mining, and years later a superhighway would cross it, but the creek survives.

Montana dixie

A fly fisherman who lives in Montana dreams of returning to southern states to rekindle some of his boyhood fishing adventures. The closest he got to the south, however, was a small lake near Montana where he failed to catch any fish.

Dancing in the dark

A fisher describes how he caught his largest trout in the Missouri River. He carried the trout to a nearby creek that fed the river and released it so that it would be able to spawn.
