The perseverance of the team members has helped the US Disabled Ski Team dominate other teams in international competitions. Team members include monoskiers Chris Waddell and Sarah Will and three-tracker Greg Mannino. Nagano, Japan, will host the Paralympics after the 1998 Winter Olympics.

Members of the US Ski Team are generally not favored to win European events. However, several US skiers have won Olympic medals, including Gretchen Fraser in 1948, Billy Kidd and Jim Heuga in 1964, Debbie Armstrong in 1984, Tommy Moe in 1992 and Liz McIntyre in 1994.
