Dietary and performance assessment of elite soccer players during a period of intense training
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that diets of elite soccer players are generally sufficient to promote maximum performance. Energy intakes from carbohydrates, fat and protein were all in accordance with recommended guidelines, and body fat was not remarkable. While carbohydrate levels were higher than minimum levels needed to improve glycogen storage, calcium was below dietary recommendations.

Case study of training, fitness, and nourishment of a Dog Driver during the Iditarod 1049-Mile Dogsled race
Article Abstract:
A dog driver should follow some energy intake and maintain prescribed hydration status while participating in the Iditarod 1049-mile dogsled race. A study was conducted to determine the balanced energy intake, which revealed an even higher energy requirement of 10,740 kJ/day.
