Leighton Steward's diet book, 'Sugar Busters', claims that sweets and other high-carbohydrate foods are more to blame for obesity than dietary fat. Insulin, which is triggered by sugars, increases the liver's production and transportation of blood fats. The diet eliminates most starches.
