Body composition profiles of elite American heptathletes
Article Abstract:
This study used bioelectrical impedance and skinfold techniques to measure body composition in a sample of elite heptathletes. Findings indicate that these athletes are generally lean and have high bone mineral density levels and that skinfold methods are more accurate in providing body composition estimates than bioelectrical impedance analysis.

Exercise motivation, eating, and body image variables as predictors of weight control
Article Abstract:
A study investigates changes in psychosocial variables related to exercise, eating and body image during a weight reduction program and evaluates their association with weight loss in middle-aged overweight and obese women up to one year after intervention. The findings highlight the importance of cognitive processes during weight control and support the notion that initial focus on diet is associated with short-term weight loss while change in exercise-related motivational factors play an important role in long-term weight management.
