The Navratilova-Connors match was seen as an entertainment production rather than as a serious competition. Connors won the $500,000 prize, but rumors claimed that the players would pocket at least $500,000 each in appearance fees. Connors says tennis is changing and more such exhibitions will be held.

US Davis Cup Captain Tom Gorman should be returned as captain in 1994. The US Tennis Association will then acknowledge that it is the entire team that is responsible for winning, not just the captain.
