Dawn Riley's stint as the skipper of the boat Heineken and leader of an all-female team during the 1993-94 Whitbread Round-the-World Race offers inspiring lessons on courage and determination. Throughout the race, Riley and her teammates encountered numerous, even-life threatening problems. They refused to give up, however, and eventually finished the race unharmed.

A woman sailor from Vermont describes a trip she made with two companions down Lake Champaign, leaving husbands behind, and without a planned destination. The women sailed in a Catalina 30 at about 15 knots. The delights of the sail as well as a trip to Burlington, VT, are described.
